On the 1st of November, we start our walk from the hotel at about 9am and approach our first stop after a 10 minute walk: Smaato.

A longstanding partner, the company’s two managing directors will welcome us to their office on Union Square. Smaato also maintains an office in San Francisco for hamburg@work and its members. All members of hamburg@work are warmly invited to work in the specially reserved work space and to arrange appointments with customers there.

Smaato is one of the world’s leading ‘mobile ad platforms’. Smaato has offices in San Francisco, Hamburg, Singapore and Shanghai. Company managers will introduce us to the mobile ad market and give us insight into their business.

After our visit to Smaato, we will continue with our walk and make out way to Pivotal. Pivotal is a leader in agile software development.

Jason Fraser (Leading Innovation at Pivotal Labs) will take time to guide us through Pivotal and introduce us to the secrets of agile software development in a Q & A session. Behind Pivotal’s successful customer projects are its special work methods.

After the session with Pivotal, we will then go to Airbnb, where we will meet Katrin Schmidt (Business Affairs). The native from Hamburg who joined Airbnb early on will answer our questions in a Q & A session.

In the late afternoon, we continue to the ‘Warfield’, the venue of this years Lean Startup Conference. By now, it is a tradition that the main part of the conference begins with the Ignite Talks, introduced by Eric Ries. You’re sure to enjoy 20 exciting short lectures from a wide range of topics – from the Lean Startup cosmos and beyond.

After an exciting day, we will round out the evening with a drink at a bar on the way back to the hotel.
